Summary

This person will be responsible for directing, leading, and training the visual technical production teams in support of traditional worship, as well as providing visual technology support (including recording and media preparation) for church programing and/or scheduling technicians as needed. We currently have traditional worship services at 8:30am and 11:00am that require multiple camera angles to capture various speakers and multiple musicians including choir and organist each week, often also supported by pianists, solo instrumentalists, and chamber orchestra and the use of prepared media including lyrics and text for readings to be utilized both for those attending in-person and those watching live or post-production.
Typical Work Week
The principal in-person responsibilities of this position will occur between 7:30am and 1:00pm on Sundays, working on various camera angles during soundchecks, running or overseeing a volunteer running ProPresenter or similar software to display song lyrics, announcements, ritual elements, and any graphic or video element needed during worship, and executing proper, creative video recording for LiveStream and post-production viewing. Remaining responsibilities during a typical week may require an additional visit to the church (e.g. attending a rehearsal prior to Sunday when the choir will make a major presentation with orchestra to ensure proper camera angles, etc.), but much of it may be done remotely (e.g. preparing ProPresenter for worship, meeting 1-2 times per month with the worship design team).
