The South Carolina ERT (Early Response Team) Trailer SC04 was stolen from Bethany UMC in Summerville and later found near Ridgeville, SC in the woods near a back road.
Most all the $10,000 + of contents were missing, the front of trailer was dented, the jack was torn off, the trailer was left muddy and dirty but reports are that it’s in fairly good shape.
The Early Response Trailer is now back in Summerville thanks to Troy Thomas and Casey Cannoge. Police reports have been made and serial numbers given for major equipment.
While there was insurance on the trailer, many items will still need to be purchased to help restock it in case of an emergency.
ERT Trailers are used during emergencies like hurricanes, tornados and other disasters by our Early Response Teams. They carry off the equipment and supplies necessary to begin assessing damage, removing and clearly fallen debris, repairing roofs and much more.
If you would like to give to help restock the trailer you can give through your local church or go to the conference online donations page here and use the UMVIM ERT: line item and type trailer into the corresponding text field.
