Dear Heavenly Father, today we reflect on your two key commandments: Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbor as yourself. Love is the key concept here. What better circumstance than to have a battle with a physical, spiritual and powerful unseen adversary? The adversary: a virus that threatens our priorities – Whose attention do we seek first? Who is next? Who is last? Next is faithfulness – vigilance, persistence in our prayers seeking God’s presence and help – and remembering our neighbors – family, friends and others we may not know. Petitioning, advocating for someone else, then lastly for ourselves is the cycle we can practice at these times of stress. Part of our responsibility is being aware that You hear our prayers and with the Holy Spirit, will respond. We thank you, Lord, for this assurance and the power vested in us to speak directly to You. Amen.
