Aldersgate UMC in Sumter SC is seeking a part-time Music Director. The church is primarily traditional but would like occasional contemporary songs as part of Sunday Morning Worship.
The Music Director will work with the Sr. Pastor and Worship Team to plan and implement rehearsals, weekly worship services and special seasonal services.
The Music Director will also direct the chancel choir and will be instrumental in the growth of the Music Ministry.
Qualifications include: B.A. or B.S. in music, Music Education or Church Music; at least one yr. experience in a Church musical program is preferred; familiarity with a variety of musical genre; ability to play piano and direct music; excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships and show a commitment to the mission of the church.
