About the Ministry
The youth ministry of Main Street UMC has great momentum. The church loves its youth and is eager to support the ministry, both through encouragement and finances. The youth group meets each Sunday night and youth serve within the church, in the local community, and abroad.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a faithful Christian who is emotionally intuitive and able to navigate relationships well. A thoughtful leader who is willing to engage in faith discussions and eager to facilitate the spiritual growth of youth will be a great fit in this role.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the youth ministry of Main Street United Methodist Church and direct the implementation of its mission and vision.
Work with the youth ministry team, adult volunteers, and supervisory staff to lead a safe, sustainable, integrated, and fruitful ministry to young people and their families.
Spiritually nurture the youth of Main Street UMC so that their challenges both at present and in the future are met with a clear Christian identity through an understanding of God’s grace and the engagement of their God-given gifts and talents.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years experience in youth ministry or a related field
Relational
Organized

Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is known as the Hub City, with New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast each a short drive away. Home to two universities, a zoo, museums, and local restaurants, this town has an eclectic art and music culture and a real community feel.
