The South Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church’s 2020 Stewardship Summit – “It’s Not Just Giving Generously, It’s Living Generously” – will take place Feb. 29 at Union United Methodist Church in Irmo.
The Rev. Dr. Bob Crossman, former director of the New Church Leadership Institute of the Arkansas Conference, will lead sessions centered on the spiritual discipline of stewardship:
- A Biblical View of Stewardship
- Creating a Stewardship Ripple Effect in Your Church
- Four Dozen Ways to Improve Your Annual Stewardship Campaign
The program will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the $15 fee includes lunch. Churches are encouraged to bring their stewardship teams.
One hour of continuing education credit (CEU) can be earned by attending the Stewardship Summit and reading these two books:
- “Committed To Christ: Six Steps to a Generous Life” (Adult Readings and Study Book), by Rev. Dr. Bob Crossman
- “God vs. Money,” by Rev. Dr. J. Clif Christopher

Rev. Crossman has four decades of experience as a pastor, having served congregations from 13 to 3,000 members. He has served as director of the New Church Leadership Institute for the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church and as a ministry strategist with Horizons Stewardship.
Rev. Crossman conducts workshops across the country on topics of wholistic stewardship, developing a vision, and overcoming growth barriers in a range of settings from new church starts to established congregations. He is the recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award and received a doctorate in evangelism from Southern Methodist University.
