Killingsworth Inc., the non-profit Columbia home for women from crisis situations, has hired Donna Lollis as interim executive director.
Lollis’ experience includes a background in nonprofit organization and donor relations, most recently as donor relations manager for Harvest Hope Food Bank of the Pee Dee. She is a graduate of the Non-Profit Leadership Institute at Francis Marion University.
Having served in ministry, she and her husband Chris, a United Methodist minister, and their daughter Sarah live in Darlington.
Killingsworth opened in the 1940s with a mission to support, empower and advocate for women from crisis situations. It is a ministry of the United Methodist Women, who assist with financial support, resourcing and training for the staff and the board of directors.
United Methodists across South Carolina contribute volunteer services and fundraising support, with additional support being raised by individuals, corporations, church groups, community-based organizations, grants and fees paid by the residents.
“I look forward to serving in such an important role to transform the lives of women in crisis situations,” Lollis said. “I have big shoes to fill following Rev. Diane Moseley’s more than 40 years of dedicated service, but I’m prepared for the task.
“Through the prayers of many motivated volunteers and generous donations, we will continue our great mission.”
