JOB TITLE: Foster Care and Adoption Director
LOCATION(S): Charleston, South Carolina
The Foster Care and Adoption Director is responsible for providing supervision and oversight of the foster care and adoption program. The Foster Care and Adoption Director will provide case management supervision to the Case Managers/Licensing Specialists. He/she will facilitate and coordinate best practices that maintain the highest level of safety, security, and quality care for all clients in the Foster Care and Adoption Program. The incumbent will market, grow, and expand the Foster Care and Adoption program across the Lowcountry. The Foster Care and Adoption Director will be responsible for maintaining licensure as a child placing agency.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling required.
Minimum of five years of experience working with children in the child welfare system. South Carolina Certified Adoption Specialist Certification required within 6 months of hire. Must become a certified NCI and certified MAPP trainer within 1 year of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional License including LISW, LPC and LMFT. Prior experience working with a child placing agency is highly desired.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Demonstrates the ability to learn and to practice teamwork; patient and compassionate. Understands and respects the necessity for confidentiality. Organized with an attention to detail. Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form. Must be able to pass standard background checks and pre-employment drug test.
