Job Posting – Finance Administrator
Full-Time Position with benefits
John Wesley United Methodist Church is seeking a Finance Administrator to join our supportive and faith-driven staff. This full-time position plays a vital role in a welcoming church that is committed to connecting people to others, to our community and to God.
Primary job responsibilities
- Financial management of the church’s $1.2 million budget including financial reporting, Accounts Payable, Contributions, Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Banking, tracking member contributions and stewardship reporting
- Provide a warm welcome in the church office to members, visitors, vendors and telephone backup support
- Uphold the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality
- Problem solving ability
- Collaborative and team oriented, with the ability to work independently
- Other duties as assigned
This position reports to the Senior Pastor and works closely with all church committees, the church treasurer and the staff and members of John Wesley UMC.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in business administration of a church or non-profit organization or in a similar financial role
- Proven track record of successfully executed financial management program in cloud-based management software (ShelbyNext or other church management software preferred)
- Excellent People and Communication skills
- Proficient Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Mature in Christian Faith; it is not a requirement to become a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church
