Listening to God through Lectio Divina
Zoom Retreat
Leader: Marla Fuller, minister of communication for St. Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca. She holds a master of arts in theology, with a concentration in spirituality and spiritual direction from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Date/Time: November 8, 2-3:30 p.m.
In Western Christianity, Lectio Divina (Latin for “Divine Reading”) is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote deep communion with God, and to provide a unique opportunity to enter into scripture to seek God’s specific word for the individual reader. It does not treat scripture as text to be studied, but as God’s living and transforming Word. Together, we will explore this ancient practice and experience how God can use the scriptures we spent our careers studying in-depth and reveal it to our understanding in new and more personal ways.
