On March 19, 2016 we will have a chainsaw training class at Jordan UMC located at 2456 Jordan Church Road; near Manning, SC 29102. The class will promptly start at 10 AM with classroom training until around 12 Noon. Lunch will be provided and then we will go to a near-by woodland area and actually fell and cut up some trees until around 4 PM. Cost is $5 per person. If you own a chainsaw you can bring it and if approved then you can use it. Everyone is required to have a long sleeve shirt, gloves, safety glasses and preferably steel / composite toe shoes or boots. Everyone using a chainsaw will have to have on chaps, hearing protection and a helmet. We will provide the hearing protection, helmets and chaps if you do not have your own.
