Dear Friends,

I enjoyed seeing everyone today!  Please share the information below and the attached flyer with your email networks, Facebook, etc.

Happy Easter, friends!

As we look toward May, I want to thank every church that supports Epworth through our annual Mother’s Day offering.  We could not touch the lives of over 300 children and families across the state without the support of our church partners!

May is Foster Parent Appreciation Month, and our Upstate Foster Care staff is inviting churches to support our foster families with a gift basket to be shared with them at their appreciation dinner at the end of May.  We hope that churches will include a card from the church and offer a prayer over the baskets on behalf of foster families and children in their care.  Nationwide, as many as 50% of foster families will quit in the first year.  One of the reasons they quit is lack of support.  Your church can make a difference in the life of children by helping foster families stay in the game.

The attached flyer gives details about the baskets and the kinds of things to include.  We have need of 35 baskets, and I want to share where we have foster families:

Greenville district: 12 homes

Spartanburg district: 9 homes

Anderson district: 10 homes

Greenwood district: 4 homes

If your church is willing to assemble a basket (or 2 or 10!), please email me to let me know how many you will be offering.  Please indicate in the email if you are able to drop the baskets off at Aldersgate UMC in Greenville, or if we need to arrange pick-up closer to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Again, thanks for all that you do to support children and families in your community and across the state.

Gratefully,

Kathy
