In October 2025, the South Carolina Annual Conference voted to reduce the number of districts to 10 from 12, leaving the matter of finalizing the configuration of new district lines to the Appointive Cabinet. Annual Conference members also voted to create a new Office of Congregational Excellence, which will oversee the work of the Office of Congregational Development and the continuing work of the Office of Connectional Ministries.

The Logistics Transition Team has one more virtual listening session scheduled to share plans to implement changes approved by the Annual Conference.

The Report of the Logistics Transition Team

This report is intended to inform and provide resources to the laity and clergy of the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, with particular emphasis on churches and clergy who will be moving into a new district. The purpose of the report is to explain the work of the Logistics Team and to provide clarity about the processes, plans, and resources supporting the transition to 10 districts by July 1, 2026.
